Wednesday marked one week since 10-year-old Barway Collins of Crystal went missing. Police say the boy's father, Pierre Collins, is a suspect because he hasn't been entirely truthful with police.
Pierre Collins told 12 News Wednesday that he has been truthful with authorities.
"I'm working with the police, I've been truthful with them, whatever I told them was true, I'm willing to work with them so my son can come home," Pierre Collins said.
Barway Collins was last seen getting off his school bus on March 18. Tuesday police released video from that bus. In the video, police say you can hear the boy say "There's my dad," and moments later say "there's my uncle." It's not clear if uncle is the boy's biological uncle or a family friend.
"The father and the party described as a uncle are likely the last known people to have seen Barway," said Crystal Police Chief Stephanie Revering at a press conference Tuesday.
Revering said authorities questioned Pierre Collins about the man referred to as uncle, but he was not helpful.
"We have reason to believe that Barway's father has not been completely truthful with us," Revering said.
On Thursday, community volunteers will hand out fliers throughout the city of Crystal to help find Barway. The event starts at 6 p.m.
